After spending years in classrooms of our own and then working in curriculum development, we had a vision of professional development that was not only theoretically sound but also practical.
Wondering what was possible if schools and school systems offered innovative and actionable professional development, we created a menu of workshops and rented a space in the Historic West End neighborhood of Winston-Salem, North Carolina to begin work.
In the early days, we shared one card table for a desk and had no sizeable budget for advertising. We held a contest for high school students to develop a logo and we paid them with a $50 gift card. As we worked in the field, the impact of our work began to spread beyond Forsyth County, NC into other districts.
ERG currently has a geographic footprint that crosses 17 states. We visit almost 3,000 classrooms each year. We have grown from working at all the schools ourselves to having a team of over 20 consultants who provide a variety of services nationally and as of 2018, internationally.
Despite the growth of the company, we have worked hard to remain a company that operates as a small giant in the field of education. With no desire to become a large corporation, we can provide specialized attention to our customers who know we are just a personal phone call away.
ERG remains committed to the goal of providing high quality services that promote the growth of all learners.
